a musician's tale
life through my eyes

there's nothing better than getting a hug from someone you haven't seen in a while. andrew was only gone for a week, but i was still so happy to see him when he came over this morning. i missed him, and that hug felt great. i will miss having Quicksilver over here tho. i enjoyed waking up in the morning to all of his whistles and chirps. i liked taking care of him.

yesterday morning was my first driving lesson. it was awesome! i had so much fun. my teacher is really weird... and a little scary at times, but i loved being able to drive around like that. i went on the highway twice. the first time, he told me to see what the car could do, so i floored it like he told me and ended up doing about 80. mmmmm... speeding.
later that afternoon my mom let me drive to the mall. she only freaked out on me once, and there was no need. she was just being the typical concerned and panic-y mother who had never driven with a driver's ed student before. every parent's nightmare- teaching his/her child how to drive.

i went to my cousin's house last night. we went down the usual conversation topics. ailments, gambling, work/jobs... death. you know, the kind of stuff that every family discusses at the dinner table. i know, why don't we plan a family outting to the cemetary?! mom will bring the lawnmower, alyssa (who's leaving for u of i in a month) will bring the sponge to clean off the gavestones, eileen (my cousin's mom) will bring flowers to put on the graves, dara (who just got a job as an elementary school music teacher) will bring the Quiji board, and i'll bring the picnic. it'll be great! i should just write a soap opera about my family. yeah, we'll call it The Poor and the Jewish. how's that? the young and the restless is already taken.
what a fun family i have :o).

there was a note taped to the computer in the morning from my parents saying that they would be gone for the day. it appears that i will be confined to the comfort of my empty house until tomorrow. unless of coarse someone happens to call me and give me a lift out of here. but hey, that's alright. i will just happily await to hear from andrew, who is going to a funeral tonight, so that we can discuss the plan of action for tomorrow. aaron is having a graduation party downtown that i'm looking forward to. anything downtown is good. my cousin is also throwing a party tomorrow night. eileen and howie are going to vegas, so alyssa's having a bunch of friends over after they leave. this should be interesting. just imagine what they'll do next. perhaps i'll stop by if we've got time after aaron's gathering. we'll go party-hopping! ah, so much excitement.
