a musician's tale
life through my eyes

i remember there was mist...
swirling mist upon a vast, glassy lake
there were candles all around and on the lake there was a boat,
and in the boat there was a man...

ever get that hazy feeling after a long day? you did a whole lot of stuff that day, or better yet, you took on way too many things to do at one time, and after it's all over, you can't really remember everything you did. sure, you know that you went here and there, had a good or bad time, saw lots of people... but some of the details are just a tad fuzzy.
that's kinda how i feel after first semester. it was fun, stressful, busy, and it had a few relaxing moments mixed in there too. everything that a semester can be. there were days when i was bored and felt like i did absolutely nothing, but when i look back at the school year thus far, it's blown by and i've kept really busy with all sorts of activities. can't remember all of the details, but i know it's been generally good with the usual dosage of ups and downs. (with perhaps a few extra ones)

drama. good and bad. wanted and unwanted. feared and anticipated. hated and loved. necessary and unnecessary. real and unreal. or surreal if you'd prefer. drama is just about everything you can think of that makes life interesting. it puts conviction in life, contradicts itself in every way, shape, and form, drives people mad, and keeps me on my toes.
how would you define drama?

today i had a fight with my mom, went shopping, bought two dresses (one of which needs to be exchanged tomorrow), and watched moulin rouge with jim. that about covers my day. everything but the fighting was fun. i never like having big arguments over something seemingly trivial that leads to a large display(s) of exaggerated emotion. at least not with my parents. not cool.

i hope you don't mind, i hope you don't mind
that i put down in words
how wonderful life is, now you're in the world
i hope musical films are coming back. there haven't been many made in a quite some time. they just kinda disappeared. hopefully, moulin rouge, chicago, and phantom of the opera signify the beginning of a new age of decent musical motion pictures. it'd be nice if all of them were exceptional, but i don't want to push it. can't ask for too much. i just want to see more musical extravaganzas in the theaters!
the critics gave phantom of the opera 2 stars. pah! what do they know anyway? those frauds.
stranger than you dreamt it- can you even dare to look or bear to think of me:
this loathsome gargoyle, who burns in hell, but secretly yearns for heaven,
secretly. . . secretly. . .
